Etch the Surface

  • Apply concrete-etch to the clean, bare concrete to roughen the surface, which improves the adhesion of subsequent layers. This step is particularly important for dense or previously sealed concrete floors where the sealer might prevent new applications from bonding correctly. Ensure the etch is uniformly applied and thoroughly rinsed off, leaving no residue.

Applying the Waterproofing Sealant

After the primer on your concrete floor has thoroughly dried, the next crucial step is applying the waterproofing sealant. This ensures that your concrete floors are effectively sealed, providing a durable and robust barrier against moisture.

Clean the Surface:

Start by thoroughly cleaning the concrete floor. Use the cleaner to remove all dirt, grease, and grime from the surface. This step is essential for achieving a clean base, which helps the waterproofing materials adhere better. Ensure that the entire area, especially if it's a concrete basement floor, is free of any contaminants.

Repair Cracks and Gaps

Inspect the concrete slab for any cracks or gaps. Use sealant and adhesive caulking to fill these imperfections. Sealing these areas is crucial to prevent water from seeping through, which could undermine the effectiveness of your waterproofing. Allow the caulking to cure according to the manufacturer’s instructions before proceeding.
